Range and Outliers

Range - the positive difference between the largest and smallest values in a data set.
Outlier - a value that is smaller or larger than the other data value.
- a data set may have one or more outliers or no outliers.

Find the range:
a) 7, 4, 3, 6, 2, 5, 8, 3 ----> 2, 3, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 ----> 8-2 = 6
b) 11, 8, 8,5, 7, 6, 7, 6, 6---->5, 6, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8,11--->11-5=6
c) -4, 3, -1, 0, 2 ----> -4, -1, 0, 2, 3 ----> 3-(-4) = 7
Find the outliers:
a) 18, 19, 79, 17, 20, 12 ---> 12, 17, 18, 19, 20, 79 ---> 79
b) 14, 14, 16, 15, 1, 16 ---> 1, 14, 14, 15, 16, 16 ---> 1
c) 98, 202, 99, 91, 2, 95, 89, 88 ---> 2, 88, 89, 91, 95, 98, 99, 202 ---> 2 and 202

    I like how you got everything down from today. I'm proud that you got a video but it would be better if you had a link. It would be better if thee wasn't alot of color. Thanks for putting down the homework becuase I didn't want to go through my notes to find it. And maybe you shouldof said that their was a reminder that their was a test and that we should study.

  5. Great job, Hazel :)
    Everything was neat and organized, which was easy to read. I agree with Cameron how he said to remind us about the Number of the Day test, tomorrow. But other than that, everything was great. As well as the pictures.
    Keep up the good work :)
