Annie has been asked to calculate 1.7+6+2. She claims the answer is 3.85. Do you agree? Explain why or why not.
I don't agree because the answer i got was 9.7. I think she added it wrong. i calculated 1.7+6 and it equaled 7.7 then i added 2 and i got 9.7
Good Job Jomer :D . I like your picture. I think next time you should put a link next time, but it was a good start.
ReplyDeleteI don't agree because when I did the calculating I also got 9.7.
good job jomer :D. i really like the picture and i agree with allison, you should get a link next time. I agree with you. i also got 9.7.
ReplyDeleteGood Job Jomer. I think you did a great job.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, when I calculated the equation I also got 9.7
Nice job Jomer, the picture was great and the video was helpful, it would've been better if there was as link.
ReplyDeleteI don't agee with Annie because I added 1.7 + 6 = 7.7 and then added the 2 with the sum and it equalled to 9.7.
Well done jomer,
ReplyDeleteI like the picture, im pretty sure you made it, very creative and neat. I agree with your answer because when i calculated 1.7 + 6 + 2 i got 9.7 im not sure how annie got 3.85
Good job Jomer! I like the picture that you put and the colors that you used. But next time try to find a link.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you because I added 2+6=8 and then 8+1.7=9.7

ReplyDeleteGood job Jomer , i calculated the answer and i also got 9.7 which is wrong ,
ReplyDeleteGood Job Jomer, I liked how you made some of the words in colour. I also liked the image you posted and how the letters are a bit large. Good Job.
ReplyDeleteGood Job Jomer, I suggest that next time try to find a link. I'm not sure I copied the problem right cause on mine I have 1.7+6\2=3.85. If it is 1.7+6+2=9.5 I agree with you.
ReplyDeleteGood Job jomer, i like wat u did with the brotheres and sisters.

ReplyDeleteFor homework the question was 1.7+6+2? I thought the question was 1.7+6÷2.
ReplyDeleteHowever, when I calculated 1.7+6÷2, I got the answer 4.7.
Then I went to my calculator to see if I was correct and typed the numbers down. But instead of typing them down how I did it on my paper (using the BEDMAS steps), I typed it "normally", from left to right, and got Annie's answer 3.85.
So Annie is incorrect because she didn't go through the BEDMAS steps.
However, I don't know if I wrote the wrong question down or if you did. So to determine if we had to ÷ or + 2, I will calculate 1.7+6+2 using the BEDMAS steps, and the "normal" way (starting from left, to right).
If I don't get the answer 3.85 using both ways, then I think that means the proper question would have been 1.7+6÷2.
Good Job Jomer! Nice picture but next time try to get a link. I also agree with you because 1+6+2=9+0.7=9.7

ReplyDeleteI have calculated the question 1.7+6+2 using both ways. However, you couldn't have really calculated this question using the BEDMAS steps, because it only had one "operation". The only operation here was +, so this question turned out to be just a "normal" addition question. So what I did was just add the numbers together and got 9.7. Since the answer for both ways wasn't 3.85, then that determines that the proper question would have been 1.7+6÷2.
ReplyDeleteI disagree because the answer Annie got was wrong because the right answer was more than 3.85. by the way, nice job with your post!!
ReplyDeleteGood job Joemer! I really liked the picture and the video,Ryan i think your right i copied the same equation as you, so if i use BEDMAS I would divide 6 by 2 the quotient is 3 then i added 1.7 and the answer i got is 4.7 .
ReplyDeleteIm not sure but, i think the question was 1.7+6 divided by 2, because if you were to solve that it would equal to annies answer which is 3.85
ReplyDeleteGood Job Jomer. I think you did a great job.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with you because 1+6+2=9+0.7=9.7
the video was really helpful
Everything was good. I liked how you got the adittion and subtration brother thing on the blog and the video was good too. I also belive that the answer is 9.7 because if you add the 1 and 6 together and I got 7 and then I put the 2.7 and got 9.7.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Jomer, you have to make the I a capital when you write it.
Great job Jomer! I really like your picture it was very creative. I do not agree with Annie because when I followed the BEDMAS steps I at least got more than 3.85 and I think she added the answer wrong. I did 1.7+6+2= 9.7
ReplyDeleteGreat Job Jomer!
ReplyDeleteI liked the picture.
What Annie calculated is wrong. I agree with Jomer. I calculated the equasion and got what everyone else got.
Very good job jomer on the video picture our homework.Fantasic and i agree with you i got 9.7!:P
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I copied problem right cause got, 1.7+6\2=3.85. If it is 1.7+6+2=9.5 I agree with you. Good job jomer with the image and video.
ReplyDeletegood job jomer. i dis agree because i calculated it and got 9.7
ReplyDeleteGreat job Jomer! Nice job with the post! I like the image you posted up and the video was great too. I agree that the answer is 9.7. I think this is correct because 6+2=8 and 8+1.7=9.7.
ReplyDeleteGreay job jomer like the picture and nice video but next time put a link .
ReplyDeleteI agree with you beacuse i got the same answer.
Nice Job Jomer! Thanks for the video and Annie's calculation explaination!I like when you explain about BEDMAS and i also liked when you explain annie's calculation.I agree because I calculated and got 9.7.
ReplyDelete6+2=8 8+1.7=9.7
Good job Jomer. I also disagree with Annie's answer because I calculated and I got 9.7 like your's. How can 1.7+6+2=3.85?
ReplyDeleteAlthough i didn't see the video but i new it ws going to be good and you really used your colors on this one.
ReplyDeleteNice job Jomer, but you didn't put a link.
