Today in math we learned how to subtract integers.
5 - 2 =3
(-5) - (-3) = 2
Show using chips :
(-7) - (-3) =
3 - (-4) =
(-6) - 2 =
(-2) - (-5) =
This morning it was -2. This afternoon will be 3. Determine the difference of these temperatures.
Method 1)
Subtract the morning temperature from the after noon temperature.
3 - (-2) = 5
Method 2)
Subtract afternoon temperature from the morning temperature .
(-2) - 3= 5
Sorry if it's confusing, I tried my best to explain it :)
Awesome Job Allison! I like how used enough color but when you put "Show using chips" you shouldn't have used the color gray, because it is to light. I liked the video and site you picked. I found having the poem Mr. Isfeld made (When subtracting something that isn't there, use a zero pair!) colored and big was a great way for people to see, so they can keep practicing. Anyways, great job! (:

ReplyDeleteGreat job Allison! I liked the images and font. It was organized also. I didn't understand what you did with the second image. You put "(-5)-(-3)=2" but you subtracted -2. Overall it was COOL.
